Josephine Fubara

Dr. Josephine Fubara is a purpose-driven leader and Chief Science Officer who is passionate about making self-care accessible to all through science, innovation, and consumer-focused healthcare solutions. An award-winning R&D executive with more than 22 years of experience, she has deep expertise in innovation, product development, commercialization, strategic partnerships, and Rx-to-OTC switches, driving impactful health outcomes through Opella’s global brands.
Before joining Opella in 2020, Josephine served as Global Head of Therapeutics, R&D at Bayer Consumer Health and held a range of technical and business leadership roles at Whitehall-Robins, Wyeth, and Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. She holds a Pharmacy degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the Medical University of South Carolina, USA. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga and exploring new places.
